Manual handling injuries are the main cause of lost working days in the UK. These injuries occur due to sprains and strains resulting from the incorrect lifting and movement of objects. In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent Regulations, it is the responsibility of all employers to provide employees with sufficient information and training on manual handling. Employees can gain a manual handling qualification through HABC to ensure you are compliant with the regulations and to minimise the costs you incur from work-related lifting injuries.

HABC Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling – This award makes candidates aware of their responsibilities and gives them a good understanding of the principles of safe moving and lifting of loads One of the main injuries suffered in the workplace is back injury, and the majority are due to poor lifting techniques.
