This Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) training course will provide each delegate with a clear understanding of the framework of law and regulation that underpins the responsibilities of the personal licence holder.

Achievement of the APLH qualification forms an essential part of the personal licence application and will enable those selling or authorising alcohol sales to operate both legally and responsibly.

The APLH qualification, formerly NCPLH qualification, is needed to apply for a Personal Licence to sell alcohol and advance your career prospects within the licensed retail sector in England and Wales.

The law currently states that anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol must hold a “Personal Licence” issued by their local authority.

The law requires alcohol sales on licensed premises to be made or authorised by a personal licence holder. Individuals applying for a personal licence must hold an accredited licensing qualification such as the
HABC Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH).

COURSE DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT:

The APLH qualification is accredited by both Ofqual and the Secretary of State at the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, and has been designed to meet the statutory requirements of the Licensing Act 2003. Furthermore, whilst comprehensively covering the full framework as set down by the Government, the APLH qualification is extremely straight-forward, user-friendly and free from unnecessary jargon. The course can be taken in a variety of ways:

  • Group Training at your premises
  • Open Courses at one of our training centres
  • Scheduled courses at one of our training centres
  • Distance Learning (with Exam at our training Centre)
